AnalogX – Mod ATS-1 Tape Emulations (GENESIS)
Exclusive to Genesis | Sampled at 96kHz | Powered by Ethereum+ | Calibrated to -18dbfs avg
Analog Tape? Almost ;-)
Analog Tape. Without the Tape.
The AnalogX ATS-1 Tape Simulation Pack brings the unmistakable warmth, soft compression, and harmonic depth of the ATS-1 — one of the world’s most revered analog tape simulators — directly into Genesis. Captured using premium Merging conversion and modelled in our advanced Ethereum+ tier, this pack delivers that elusive near analog tape tone with no hiss, no latency, and no compromises.
With precision sampling at 96kHz and high-resolution Ethereum+ modelling at 48kHz, these profiles recreate the exact behaviour of multiple tape speeds, bias settings, and saturation modes from the ATS-1 — including the HOT 30ips mode for an extra punch of near analog grit. It’s pure tape character, reinvented for the Genesis workflow.
🎚️ What’s Inside
Four Ethereum+ tape emulations, directly modelled from the ATS-1 hardware:
- AnaMod 1.0 – 30ips
Extended top-end, ultra-tight lows — for clean, modern glue across mix bus or vocals. - AnaMod 2.0 – 30ips HOT
The same high-speed profile with driven bias — more saturation, more character. - AnaMod 3.0 – 7.5ips
Rich compression, lowered headroom — perfect for bass, FX returns, and vintage colour. - AnaMod 4.0 – 15ips
A perfect balance between tape warmth and clarity — works on guitars, keys, busses, or stems.
Each .gen profile mirrors the exact tone and behaviour of the ATS-1 hardware settings, with no noise added. Use Genesis’ wet/dry control to carve precise parallel tape blends or dial in subtle harmonic shaping across your entire chain.
🧬 A Brief History
The ATS-1 is a 2U analog hardware unit that simulates the behaviour of real tape machines and tape formulations using analog circuitry — not digital emulation. No A/D or D/A conversion, no latency — just true analog modelling of bias, repro EQ, machine type, and tape speed.
Its modular rotary controls let engineers simulate everything from Ampex and Studer-style machines to different tape brands and bias curves. With units priced near £5,000, the ATS-1 became a staple in mastering rooms, valued for replacing real tape without any digital drawbacks.
Thanks to AnalogX’s Ethereum+ engine, the essence of this hardware is now available natively inside Genesis — zero-latency, ultra-detailed, and 100% faithful.
💡 Why It Stands Out
- Ethereum+ Modelling – Custom deep-learning architecture with extended temporal detail
- Exact Tape Speeds & Modes – Captures 30ips, 15ips, 7.5ips, and HOT bias in full resolution
- Sampled at 96kHz / Modelled at 48kHz – Clean, precise, and optimised for realtime playback
- No Noise, Just Tone – No added tape hiss or artifacts — just pure near analog colour
- Designed for Parallel Magic too – Use Genesis’ wet/dry knob for sculpted tape tone
⚙️ How to Use It
- Set Input Around -18 dbfs avg – Use VU metering, red drive at 12 o’clock = unity as a starting point
- Try 30ips HOT on Mix Bus – A touch of musical saturation without crushing transients
- Use 7.5ips on Bass or Room Mics – The depth and richness is unmistakable
