Logical VHD Harmonics is a high-voltage tone enhancer based on a boutique British preamp known for its Variable Harmonic Drive (VHD) section. Captured and modelled at ultra-high resolution, this pack delivers a flexible blend of second and third-order harmonics with transformer-style weight and edge — without mud or phase smear.

Included Emulations:

• Split Harmonics – A reactive blend of 2nd + 3rd order harmonics. Adds bite, glue, and weight.
• 2nd Harmonics Only – Smooth warmth with a rounded, analog-like contour. Great for subtle enhancement.

Calibrated to -18 LUFS input with red drive at 0 (12 o’clock), these profiles were crafted using our new High Quality Modelling Tier for ultra-detailed harmonic realism inside Genesis.

The original Solid State unit behind this emulation was revered by engineers for its ability to add harmonic saturation without sounding fuzzy, fizzy, or brittle. Its Class A gain stage fed into a variable harmonic circuit that let you blend in triode-style smoothness or pentode-like aggression on the fly — ideal for tracking, mixing, or hitting buses with just the right amount of analog lift.
