We are proud to present the brand new flagship M15 Emulations, inspired by the legacy of the classic Telefunken M15 analog Tape Machine. We Meticulously crafted these emulations using our latest and greatest Series 2 Technology™
A 2-track stereo master recorder – a legendary mastering-grade tape machine from the 70s. It represents the German answer to the Studer A80. This model was sought after in the 70s and the 80s as the go-to machine for recording mixdowns and masters. Running at 15IPS, it has a unique warm signature and a very interesting, lively low end. Driven just a bit hotter and consequently adding subtle harmonic distortion, it can help mixes translate better to smaller devices and achieve loudness without over-compression.
Designed for professional use, it sports transformer balanced inputs and outputs, an all-discrete transistor audio path and sought-after “butterfly” tape heads. The nominal input level is calibrated to +6dBu and the converter inputs and outputs to +18dBu. This allows for hitting the tape hard, if so desired.
Treat your individual tracks, sub mixes, or master bus to a nice slice of 1970's nostalgia emulated in its purist digital form using the latest technology for you to use and abuse on your digital productions.
Hearing is believing.. Saturation for days, perfect capture of the low bump and tight low end, lush smooth highs and organic saturation NEVER heard before inside the DAW. Run it across single tracks, buses, sub mixes and master bus and listen to your mix be transported in time to when music sounded and felt organic.
We decided to do two versions of the M15 for you, once for conservative use and the other for smashing the shit out of things. Due to the fact that you can drive into our profiles as lightly or a heavily as you like we believe this covers all bases for a fabulous range of sounds. Do not be afraid to push this tape machine into oblivion! and hear the spectacular saturation in action.
