Magnetismus 2 – Compressor and Saturation Profiles

At its core, the Magnetismus 2 emulation offers a powerful VCA compressor with controls for Threshold, Timing, Ratio, and Make-Up Gain. Just like similar high-end hardware compressors, this profile is perfect for taming stereo signals, ensuring that peaks are managed without compromising your mix’s dynamic range. It’s also designed to give you that coveted "glue" effect that holds mixes together effortlessly.

This emulation goes beyond compression with three unique Flux Mode emulations —Eisen, Kobalt, and Nickel—that simulate the saturation characteristics of different magnetic materials. These profiles emulate the effect of passing your signal through transformers inspired by tapes made from iron, cobalt, and nickel, offering subtle or more pronounced harmonic enhancements to your sound.

Additionally, the output transformer adds extra density, giving you that final bit of punch your mix needs. Whether you’re aiming to enhance individual tracks, buses, or entire mixes, this emulation offers the flexibility and depth you require.

In more extreme settings, the Magnetismus 2 profiles also serve as a creative tool for sound design, allowing you to crush and destruct audio signals—ideal for dramatic effects like drum smashing.
