🧬 A Brief History of the Original Hardware

The original design that inspired this pack was developed for early radio broadcast levelling, using vacuum tubes and transformers to control dynamics naturally and musically. Over time, its lush, thick compression style found a second life in recording studios, prized for adding body, warmth, and energy to vocals, bass, and drums.

The STAR-LEVEL captures the essence of this design, offering the same rich harmonic behaviour and smooth envelope shaping that made the original units legendary—without ever needing maintenance or tubes.
