Originally developed by EMI in the 1950s, the REDD preamps powered some of the most influential recordings in music history—including the entire Beatles catalogue at Abbey Road Studios. Their custom-designed tube topology provided immense headroom, rounded harmonics, and a refined, cohesive midrange that became instantly recognizable on classic records.

The 47 in particular became a go-to for capturing vocals and acoustic instruments with a lush tube tone that could remain smooth under pressure or saturate beautifully when driven.
