🧬 A Brief History
The Raindirk Series III console was hand-built in the UK by Cyril Jones, originally for Olympic Studios — a recording temple whose client list reads like a Hall of Fame: Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who, U2, Blondie, Black Sabbath, and many more.
While never mass-produced, this desk earned a reputation for its crystal-clear headroom and exceptional musicality. Its modular architecture and transformer-balanced topology made it a workhorse for both tracking and mix sessions during the 1970s and 1980s. Pete Townshend himself owned one.
This capture is taken from one of the few known working Raindirk Series III desks in circulation — and now it lives inside Genesis.
